This describes what GroupWisdom collects, how long it is kept, who else processes it, and how to have it removed. It is written to match what the software actually does.
Who we are. GroupWisdom is operated by Prem Acharya of 1895 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, California. For anything in this policy, write to groupwisdomsupport@gmail.com.
GroupWisdom is in beta. It may change substantially, be interrupted, or stop being offered.
Your name, email address, and a password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and verified email address from that sign-in and never see your Google password. Passwords for accounts created with email are stored only as a one-way hash, or held by our authentication provider, and are never readable by us.
We do not read direct messages, and we do not read any channel you have not selected. Unticking a channel stops it being read immediately.
The engine keeps a compact summary of what a project knows, called its memory, along with the wisdom it has surfaced and a record of why it stayed silent. These are generated from your content and are treated the same way as it.
Ordinary server logs: timestamps, request paths, status codes, response sizes, IP address, and identifiers such as a project id. Message content is deliberately kept out of our logs.
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use your content to train our own models.
Running the service means passing some data to the providers below. Each is bound by its own terms, and we have chosen providers whose terms do not permit training on content submitted through their APIs.

An alternative analysis engine from another model provider can be enabled on a project by request. It is off by default. If you enable it, that project's content is processed by that provider under their terms instead, and we will tell you who they are before switching it on.
These providers operate in the United States and elsewhere, so your information may be processed outside your country.
No system is perfectly secure. Encryption at rest protects against exposure of the stored database and its backups. It cannot protect against someone who compromises the running service, and it cannot protect content after it leaves us for a provider listed above.

Deleting a project removes its items, memory, wisdom, members and records together.
One cookie, used to keep you signed in. It is httpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it, and it expires after 30 days. There are no advertising, analytics or cross-site cookies, so there is nothing here to consent to or opt out of.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, port, or restrict processing of your information, and to complain to a data protection authority. Write to us and we will help.
When you connect a Buzz community, messages written by other people are sent to us for analysis. Those people are not our customers and may not know this is happening.
You are responsible for having the authority to do this and for telling the members of that community. Choose the channels deliberately, and do not connect channels carrying information those members would not expect to be processed by an outside service.
GroupWisdom is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, write to us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will give notice of material changes through the service or by email.
